A. I think Conrad does a good job of integrating technology into a wide variety of classes. Whether it's in English where we've begun to use prezi or World History which has become a distance learning class through webcam, Conrad has, in my opinion, succesfully added technology to its regular courses.

B.I think some of the biggest obstacles preventing more technology in the classroom is the distraction that it causes among students. For example, youtube is a great tool for teachers to use in the classroom, but on the other side students could easily goof off while the teacher is talking and watch funny videos or their favorite TV show. Cost is also a major problem. Not every school can afford a smartboard with a projector in every room, the latest computers, or webcams. Until cost goes down, technology probably won't be spread as widely as it should be in the classroom.

C. In my opinion, the Integration of technology will make learning easier and more fun for students everywhere. Students no longer have to be taught from a sleep inducing black board anymore. Instead they can be taught from webcam by a teacher half a world away. Technology will make learning more fun and possibly more accesible to a wider variety of students everywhere.

Nice job Travis. I too feel that You Tube is a great tool. I would love to have that access in the building, but at the same time understand the constant distraction it would cause in the student body. I think the Distance Learning Lab is what classrooms are going to look like in 10 years. Like you said, teaching almost an entire world away.

1. Glogs are best used instead of a poster project. The whole idea is instead of scrambling the night before to buy poster boards, glue, markers etc., students can create an online poster. This makes it easier to put pictures on the poster, present it on a projector, and it eliminates the need to bring in that bulky posterboard the day of the project.

2. The most tasteful way to bring this to a teacher is when the assignment is given, is to pull the teacher aside and say, "I know that you already had a plan for this project, but would you be open to using something called glogster. Here's the website if you want to check it out. Let me know if that would be better." If your teacher is open to it, he or she will probably allow your class to use it and utilize it more in the future. I would be very happy if a student approached me in that mannor and offered an idea. I think you have the right idea. The only thing I might add is "I know it may not be possible for this particular assignment, but maybe down the road it could be considered. I would be happy to show you how the tool works and what its' capabilities are if you would like.q
